BORN FROM WATER. Celebrating World Water Day and clean-drinking-water-awareness! HURLEY WILL MATCH ALL PROCEEDS from the show and donate to Waves for Water. Friday, March 21, 6-9pm, Hurley Town Hall, 1945 Placentia Ave, Costa Mesa 92627 #Hurley #artshow #blisssmagazine
Opening March 8th, “Pillage The Village” will present the work of Steven Daily, Kevin Peterson, and Jophen Stein, three Southern California based painters who use the surrealist perspective as the starting point in their creation. While each artist draws on their own personal experiences and beliefs to shape their imaginative work, all three artists share a sense of disillusionment that stems from forgotten history, and a need to examine the human condition from a position that is more mystical than material.
The opening reception will occur on March 8th from 7pm to 10pm. The reception is free and open to the public with refreshments. It will be available for viewing from March 8th to April 6th. As Issued is located at The LAB in Costa Mesa, CA, 2930 Bristol St. #A104. For more information visit www.asissued.com, email info@asissued or call 949-300-7118

The 7th annual Baby Tattooville took place over the weekend at the Historic Mission Inn. This three day, 24 hour, immersive experience featured artists Olivia, Sylvia Ji, Travis Louie, Mitch O’Connell, Alex Pardee, The Sucklord, Chet Zar, Steven Daily, Luke Chueh, Coop, Gris Grimly, Brandi Milne, Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters, Ragnar, KRK Ryden and more.
Limited to just 40 tickets, Baby Tattooville’s intimate atmosphere provides an opportunity for a small number of attendees to spend the weekend participating in both scheduled and spontaneous activities with the event’s featured artists, creative partners and surprise guests. They also have access to an eclectic assortment of unusual panels and presentations, and access to all of Baby Tattooville’s strange goings-on.
Event creator Bob Self says it best “…People who have attended in the past compare it to the parties at Hearst castle, or the parties in Citizen Kane. It’s like getting the golden ticket in Willy Wonka. It is a magical weekend that is greater than the sum of its parts. It’s a romanticized take on an artist’s life, almost like a trip back in time. It’s like a trip down the art-rabbit-hole.”
